April 16,2026 Teach-Out & Higher Education Advocacy Day
Please register for the UPI Teach Out, and please share this post widely. The Teach Out is a crucial part of the Coalition for Transforming Higher Education Funding's Advocacy Day on April 16. This is our biggest opportunity to improve WIU's dismal funding situation.
Join the Coalition for Transforming Higher Education Funding and hundreds of advocates from around Illinois for the 2026 Higher Education Advocacy Day in Springfield on Thursday, April 16.
This year’s theme is “Higher Education Works for Illinois,” as we focus on how the investment into Illinois higher education institutions and students reaps rewards for all. While in Springfield, we will educate our elected officials on why we need them to:
-
Prioritize and increase investments into the Monetary Award Program (MAP).
-
Pass the student-focused, adequate, and equitable university funding formula (SB13/HB1581) to fix how Illinois funds its four-year public institutions.
2026 POST: #HandsOffMyTeachersUnion
We invite you to join in what other supporters are doing, posting #HandsOffMyTeachersUnion statements and content to show that Illinois educators and state workers won’t be intimidated, we’ll organize. Always remember, an injury to one is an injury to all!
Call Congress (Keep healthcare affordable, defund ICE, etc.)

People over Profit
Urge Governor JB Pritzker to stand up to MAGA billionaires and Trump's threats to public schools and universities, occupations of our cities, cuts to vital healthcare, state services, transit, and more. Illinois must lead the way for students and families by putting people over profits!
